Volunteers - RCCC has responded to the call and over 100 volunteers have come forward to help out with all aspects of our first camp.  We have part time volunteers who will work at the Camper Registration, the “Everybody’s Birthday” Party, and the Welcome Home Dinner.  We also have people who are giving up a week of their vacation to be Camp Counselors, Camp Staff Support, Activities Center Workers, and even Camp Security Guards. The massive response once again proved God’s love for His people and the benefactors will be the abused, abandoned and neglected children of Bexar County.

Finances – Through fund raising efforts and generous hearts throughout the community, the money has come in to pay not only for the camp, but for the luxury bus the kids will ride in to camp, the supplies needed to provide for the activities center, the training material for the volunteers, and much, much more.  Both the Redland and New Braunfels campuses have generously supported this new ministry and people have donated significant funds for scholarships as well as other camp costs.  God  is awesome! 

Campers - Child Protective Services was contacted and our team was directed to work with the Kinship Program Director. This avenue proved fruitless, but we were not defeated. God spoke to the team and directed them to pursue children in the “system” that are being supported by the many local agencies, such as the Bair Foundation, A Child’s World, the Children’s Shelter, Boysville, Lutheran Social Services and several others. That pursuit paid off and all 40 children came forward.  Praise God!

Thank You – God has used you and this community to give 40 abused and neglected children an awesome camp experience this summer. Let’s pray that they will truly understand the unconditional love that the Father has for them.
