The Journey to Real Life
Everything we do at River City is designed to call people to and support them in 5 key decisions called The Journey to Real Life.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. – Jesus (John 10:10)
Life to the fullest…we call it, Real Life! The gospel or “good news” is all about people finding new, abundant life through Jesus Christ! This is the life we were created for. In the scriptures, when people came to Jesus or the apostles they often asked the same question—one which is still asked of the church today: “What should I do?” Jesus made it very clear that what mattered most is what we become through relationship with the Father. But, in answer to this question, there are 5 important decisions that will help us become the people we were created to be. We call these decisions “The Journey to Real Life!”
Follow - Sunday Morning Worship
It all begins with following Jesus. In the Christian faith, our first call is to relationship with our Creator through a relationship with Jesus Christ, which is simply described as following. The idea is following His leadership to eternal life. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross made forgiveness of sin possible which opened the door to the life of relationship the Father created us for! We are invited to receive Jesus’ gift of forgiveness and embrace Him as our Savior and Lord. He becomes our most important relationship as we walk with Him daily. His will and His way are first. This is the life of worship!

Connect - "Get In" Class
God created us to do life together in community. The very essence of the church is a community of people who follow Jesus. We are called to love, encourage, support, and care for one another. This is called fellowship. We do this by connecting with other believers in small groups. At River City small groups are not a ministry but the way we do ministry.

Grow - "Go Deep" Class
The Bible says that we are to become like Jesus. Jesus told his followers to make disciples and teach them to observe everything that He commanded them. We call this maturity or discipleship. As we grow in our understanding and application of His word and His ways, we experience the full life that He intended! At River City we teach and facilitate several important disciplines that will put every believer on the path to growth.

Serve - "Get Ready" Class
We all give our lives to serve something. One of the great gifts of Real Life is the gift of serving according to our design! The scriptures teach us that every believer is called and gifted to serve in unique ways that only he or she can do. Discovering and using your gifts to fulfill God’s mission in the world is one of the true secrets of full, abundant life. This is what the Bible is referring to when it mentions ministry. At River City, every one of us is challenged and equipped to engage our gifts in the mission.

Share - "Go Out" Class
One thing the scriptures make absolutely clear is that people matter to God. We’re told that God loved the world so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, who gave His life to restore lost people to Real Life! We are called to share this good news with the world around us! This is the biblical idea of evangelism. At River City, we are all challenged, equipped, and supported in the call to share God’s gift of abundant life.
