Royal Family Kids' Camps San Antonio
Royal Family Kids' Camps San Antonio is an exciting and meaningful camp experience for abused, neglected, and abandoned children in the San Antonio area.
Our inaugural camp will take place July 21st-25th, 2008. Follow this years camp on the Royal Family Kids' Camps San Antonio blog.
What is Royal Family Kids' Camps?
Royal Family Kids' Camps is a one week overnight camp where abused and neglected children are able to experience wholesome affection, one-on-one attention, and unconditional love.
Caring counselors and staff members show them what it feels like to belong to a loving family.
These children will enjoy just being kids with swimming, rock climbing, arts and crafts, woodworking, singing, games, great meals and so much more.
To be eligible for attendance, a child must be a victim of abuse and, in most cases, living in an out-of-home foster placement.
How can one week make a difference?
We offer them a healthy dose of hope.... hope that -
- A positive experience with loving adult role models is possible
- They can succeed, because they have done so at our camps
- They can experience an "oasis" - a full week of relief - where they can feel deeply loved and cared for
- If the cycle of abuse can be broken for a week - it can be broken permanently
RFKC’s Mission
Royal Family Kids' Camps exists to create positive memories for the abused, neglected, and abandoned child by completely filling their week with positive and fun-filled experiences.
Memories that will contribute to a renewed sense of self-esteem and confidence.
The Royal Family Kids' Camps program is designed to show campers that there can be people in their lives that they can trust, people who care about them, and who will interact with them without being harmful or hurtful.
In this unique program, abused children learn that they can express themselves freely without being judged or punished, that their thoughts and feelings are important and worthy of expression, and that they are valuable to themselves and others.
- Annually, 3 million cases are reported in America of child abuse, neglect or abandonment
- One of these victims dies every four hours due to that abuse

Prayer Support
Dear Prayer Partner,
Plans for the RFKC 2008 are in the final stages. Counselors and staff have been recruited, interviewed, and trained. Camper applications are being finalized. Fund raising is progressing. The theme, The Olympics, has been developed, chapel services are planned and all the final details are being completed. But RFKC needs more…we need your continual, fervent prayer support!
In trying to illustrate the importance of each person’s role in the church, the apostle Paul used the analogy of the parts of the human body. As we head to camp, the counselors and staff are the arms and legs, the eyes and ears to the campers. As you stand behind them in prayer, you are the backbone, the muscles and ligaments that hold them together. It is impossible to run this camp without the strength of prayer that you as a prayer partner provide.
Please pray for:
- The counselors – that the Lord will prepare their hearts, minds and bodies to minister to the needs of the two campers with whom they will spend the week. Pray that they will be able to take advantage of the “teachable moments” that occur. Pray that all will go well with their jobs and families so they will not be distracted from concentrating on their campers.
- The staff – that the Lord will guide and supply their needs as they prepare and plan for camp. While at camp, that they will be equipped to build up and support the counselors and campers.
- The Campers – that the Lord will begin preparing their hearts to be open to the Word of God and experience positive memories at camp. Pray for their safety while traveling, swimming, and engaging in camp activities. Ask for peace for the campers to trust and enjoy the RFKC experience.
Royal Family Kids’ CampsTM touches the lives of so many. Each individual involved has the potential to be the one who makes a difference in the life of an abused or neglected child; the one who cares, who listens, who teaches a camper something new, who pays attention, or shares a dream. The moments pass quickly but the results last a lifetime.
Camp begins on Monday, July 21st and goes through Friday, July 25th. Please be in prayer for all who are involved with camp on these dates. One of the many things we have learned about RFKC throughout the years is prayer makes a difference. We thank you for partnering with us in our mission to minister to children who have never known God’s love.
For His Kids,

The Supporters
Royal Family Kids' Camps would not exist without its loyal supporters!
RFKC is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that depends solely on donations, fundraisers, and community grants.
The cost is $600 per child for one week of camp, and here's what that pays for:
- Lodging (camp rental), meals and snacks for kids as well as volunteer counselors and other staff for the entire week.
- Individual photo albums chronicling each child's camp experience.
- Birthday party held one day for all the children.
- Numerous other take-home items, prizes and presents for each child.
- Memory bags with camp shirt, bible, workbooks etc...
- Staff training and other essentials such as insurance.
Your donation helps work miracles, build confidence and self-esteem, and create positive memories - often the best memories an abused child has ever experienced.

The Kids
The 7-11 year-old campers at RFKC San Antonio are referred to us by Child Protective Services.
In 2003, there were over 787,000 cases abuse recorded by child protective services across the United States, many with multiple children.
Life has taught these children that they are outcast, unloved, and unlucky.
Royal Family Kids' Camps teaches battered children that they are and can be winners!
We teach that God loves them, and that they can succeed.
The sports, recreation, games, crafts, teaching, songs – all are specially designed to help our Royal Family children experience success and feel loved.
To be eligible for camp:
- children must be ages 7 – 11
- There must be a history of abuse, neglect, or abandonment (foster children automatically qualify)
- An official camp application must be submitted
It should be noted that due to overwhelming need, not all children applying can be accepted.
Approximately 40 children will attend our 2008 camp.
